I have recently subscribed to cable for internet which required a network card. Some programs require windows to re-boot to continue, but now it hangs and waits for a password. ( Before I could walk away and do something else.) How can I get windows to re-boot without asking for a network password? (eliminate the request or fill it automatically ) I have no concerns about security.

Right click on network neighborhood, select properties. Under primary log on, change the drop down menu to "windows log on" Log off. When it asks for a password, leave it blank. Next time you re-boot it shouldn't ask for a password and just boot.

In the control panel there is a passwords icon click on it and from there you might be able to get rid of that password I have been able to get rid of alot of passwords on other peoples computer by using that icon. Hopefully this helps.

If by cable for internet you mean you have a cable modem, you have to log onto the network for Windows to load the network drivers needed for the CM to function. If it is hanging for a while, check the settings for the network card are right for your ISP. Although CM's are a great advance, I have had a lot of fun >:-< getting the best out of mine!

If you need any specific help with cable modems, email and I will help if I can.
