How do I create a service? 1

Here's the problem: there is a strange permission issue and we are unable to get services installed when running the installation on one particular piece of software (other applications are able to install services). What we'd like to do is to just install the services individually ourselves. I know it's possible but don't know how to do it. Any suggestions?
