I've got what I believe is a console cable. It's got a serial connector on one end and an RJ45 connector on the other end that I've plugged into the Console port on the back of the router. I thought you use telnet to talk to a reouter but I'm not sure that's how it's still done and I don't know what commands to type to connect to it but I've got online manuals that tell me what to do once I get in. Any pointers? Thanks.

Son, if you think that's scary, you should see me pretending to be a CIO. Hey, at least those free company lunches rock! Little boy Adam Ant, when you grow up, if you do, you'll see that the world is far larger than just what is contained in your little world. But I'll be nice and not reveal your glaring ignorance to the rest, and just pat you on the head on your way out. Now go play with the little kids in the little room where little worlds and little minds abound.

Oh please - oh please don't thin I'm not a real network administrator! I'd be sooooo crushed if I didn't have YOUR approval of my credentials. I can only hope to be as legitimate as you one day. Ok, back to work. Fun's over. Thanks for the laugh little boy Adam. Thanks to the rest of you who provided genuine help. Lord knows I need a lot of it as I pretend to be a network administrator. :)
