Our company recently was sold, and I need to change the login banner. I have searched the system and cannot find any place that has my current banner. I have checked /etc/security/login.cfg and I do not have a /etc/issue file.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Lisagib,

Do you mean message of the day ?
mtod is place in /etc/motd

The "before login" baner is set up in /etc/security/login.cfg. You can create the [tt]herald[/tt] variable if is not there. When the variable is not set AIX shows a default banner.
I hope it works...
Unix was made by and for smart people.
