I have an Intuity Audix with 10 ports. 4 of these ports appear to be busied out in the VM. I verified dialtone coming from the Definity, but as soon as I reconnect the ports, the line goes busy.

How can I busy & release these ports?

NOTE: I only have a VM password. The previous admin did not document what the SA password is.

TIA,
Steve

I'm thinking they come in groups of six.(6,12,18) The old admin might have just made 4 extra ports. Wisdom is Knowledge

Cannot do it from vm login.

Must have at least sa or craft access to system and go to customer/service administration/diagnostics/voiceports diagnostics/busyout ports or release ports.

If you are the administrator of that voicemail, you should have your AVAYA Business Partner upgrade your access to at least sa login. Training warranted.

Advice -- call Avaya (or whomever provides remote support for your phone systems), swallow the $80 fee, and tell them to reset the darned sa login. You just can't work without it... the vm login has no access to do so much as back up the system!
