how do i back up to other computer to reinstall windows 2k. I ve tried repairing and the laptop says it can't do it.

When you say " I ve tried repairing and the laptop says it can't do it" what do you mean in specific detail?
Have you tried "winnt32 /unattend" from the cmd line?
