How current is the LDK-100?

I have BT trying to do me a package to include ISDN/2 lines and a new switchboard. Their sales pitch is my current LDP-100 is over 4 years old, end of it's life etc.

Hence, the question.

How current is the LDK-100? Are LG still developing it, is there still parts and support for it or as a product is it nearing retirement.

Is there anything better out there or as a switchboard makes and receives calls is there any other functionality needed?

So, in the words of the Clash. 'Should I stay or should I go'.

The ipLDK-100 can be upgraded to ver. 3.9 and be equipped with IP and SIP.
So, it should be OK - for while.

Don't know what version we have as I've got a new laptop and the admin software is on my old one. I think it's 3.6.

Is the upgrade just a matter of downloading from the websote you posted and then installing?

You can check from the keysets by: [TRANS/PGM]+72.
Software (firmware) is uploaded through the LANU or serial port.
LDK PC ADMIN program is needed.

Do not remove boards - just write the name of the boards.
Do not take mother/daughter boards apart!!!(piggybacks).
ipLDK-100 has 6 SLOTs.

Processor board: MPB (or MPBN or MPBN) should have ASMU boards
installed - not PMU's.

Hi Jezt

We have discussed this in:

The conclusion was:

If you have an ASMU board connected to your MPB (Main Processor board), then it is possible to upgrade to version 3.9.
With s/w 3.9 new features as IP and SIP telephony can be added using the VOIBE board.(IP phones and IP trunks).

I woul suggest that a skilled engineer upgrades the system for you as the upgrade can fail and special boaords (PPU) and programs must be available to "rescue" the system.
