Hello,

Is it possible at all to retrieve filenames in a folder without using
Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Allan

not sure of one, but that is the tool provided for the task in ASP and would prbably be more efficient then any other that may be thought up.

is tehre a reasoning for not wanting to use FSO

Thanks onpnt for your prompt reply.

No, there's no particular reason for not wanting to use FSO. I'm just looking for other alternatives (if any.) I know we can manipulate files in a folder by writing a COM component in VB, but it's something else. Besides, these components will need to be installed/registered on the web server before we can use them.

Cheers,
Allan
