How can i stop or pause a download with windows xp pro 3

I am running Windows xp pro and I can`t seems to find the settings to pause or stop a download and resume next day .
can you please point me in the right direction.

I don't think you can, you'll need to get a download manager like star downloader or DAP?

You may need some third party software such as a Download Manager. XP as far as I know doesn't have any inbuilt ability to do this, although sometimes it is possible if the download itself has some type of "resume" ability built into it.

You can try something like this or Google for other download managers.

Beware that some free download managers contain adware or spyware.
