How can I reinstall "BlackIce Defender v2.5ch " ?? 1

I unloaded "BlackIce Defender v2.5ch " then reinstalled it a few days later but the installation was aborted with the following message :


"Unhandled exception
Error Number : 0x80070725
Description: Incompatible version of the RPC stub "

What should I do next to reinstall this program ( retail version )? (My system : Win98 SE)

Did you try to write to them? I've found that they're really prompt in responding to questions:

Try this:

oleaut32.dll
+++++++++++++++++++

which seems to be replaced or altered, probably by "BlackIce Defender".
All you have to do is to replace this file oleaut32.dll by the original version.
For that, you have to be in DOS-mode, otherwise you will not be able
to overwrite the damaged file. You may find the original version in the

WIN98_38.CAB (not certain as I do not have Win98)

of your windows disk:\win98

If you do not know how to extract a file from DOS post back..

Youre right on! After replacing the oleaut32.dll with the original , I could reinstall BlackIce without any problem ! Thanks a million for this tip !
