how can i find out what an ext. is being used for? 1

If any one can help...I have a number in a route to step in a vector. It is not a station, or another VDN, and does not come up with the "list usage command"..any other place to look to see what this number is???

it can be just an arbitrary string of digits supposed to be meaningful to the switch. try to check the first digits after some feature access codes and so on.

thanks dwalin..does not seem to be it...the number is a 5 digit number, starts with the correct digit for an extension and length...when i try and display it system says udp must be local...somehow it is there though because it gets routed off site from that number in the vector

Sounds like you have DCS'd switches. If you're using a UDP, you're basically routing the calls over to another switch though yours (it sounds like).

You should be able to do a "chang udp xxxxx" to see what switch number it's pointed over to. Also, if you dial it from an extension (in theory if the station is still active) your call should be routed over.
