I have three computers, all running XP SP2 and IE 7. On one, when I'm looking at a certain website forum (dslreports.com), if I hold my mouse pointer over the title of a post I get a flyout with all or most of the post in it. Very convenient. Saves me having to click on the post to read it. But this doesn't happen on the other computers. Is there some kind of setting in IE7 that will enable this? As far as I can tell IE 7 is confuigured the same on each computer.

Is there any difference in the firewalling of the errant machines?

Make sure your options in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced are correct.

Try running temporarily with the check box "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions" unchecked and see how this goes.

"This specifies that you want to disable features you installed for use with Internet Explorer that may have been created by companies other than Microsoft.
If you encounter problems with Internet Explorer that you cannot resolve, you can use this option to help determine if third-party features are causing the problems without uninstalling the feature. You must restart Internet Explorer after turning this option on or off."

If that stops your errors, you will know where the trouble is.

Is there any pop-up blocking settings or software being used on the other machines?

I figured out what was wrong. With this particular website (dslreports.com), I have to be logged in for the flyouts to work. I had requested to stayed logged in all the time on the one computer where the flyouts worked. I did this on the other computers, now the flyouts work everywhere. Thanks for your suggestions.
