Hello!

I made a png file from firework ms and converted to dreamweaver mx and then, put hotspot with link. The png file size is in percentage instead of pixel. As a result, the hotspot moved elsewhere when tried in different display screen area (i.e. from 1024x768 to 800x699.)

Any help would be mucho appreciato!

dont use % for image sizes as you will be trying to load a larger image than is required

Hello Cheech!

Well, I did this to ensure that this image would fit adequately on all types of screen size; whereas, the pixel would just be all over!

So, is there a way to get these hotspot stick on the image permamently? Eh..?

Thanks for your point though!

"Well, I did this to ensure that this image would fit adequately on all types of screen size; "

oooooooooooo here we go again...

"I usually buy kids size shoes since they are cheeper; then I stretch them and they look big enough..."[noevil]

1st 'H=xxxx%' is no good
use pixels px for images since u can not "measure" anything in %...
"I am 6 % tall" does not work in any language :) why would it in HTML

All the best!

Hi lebisol!

Gosh, that's a great idea! Imagine all the nickel saved for all these shoes...! eh...!

Well, it's like this: my wife wants ALL screen type to accept image nicely tucked and fitted well. Okay, got that - now, the hot spot never really stays at one place as compared to the dmx version to the browser version...

I am thinking..., heck, I am going to revamp the whole thing and put it into CSS format. I see that it is quite difficult, if not impossible, to keep that hot spot sticking on one spot whereever you see it.

Nice thing about % is that it fits all browser no matter what...and the px doesnt always... mmm...

Thanks for the humor though!
Steven

:) don't listen to your wife :)
look at this:
thread248-575310 thing about % is that it fits all browser no matter what...and the px doesnt always... mmm..."

YES but NOOOO.... images are images of a certian size and they will always be "as big as they truly are". How ugly would be a 8x11 portrait made of your picture of the drivers licence. and YES u can make it 100% over the 8x11 paper but the distortion would be horrific!
Hotspots do not move anywhere....they are simply assigned a pixel location in repsect the to image!
so let say image is 50x50 pixels
---------image------------
|
| x HOTSPT_1 x
|
|
|-------------------------

so hotspot_1 is located at x=20 and y=50 (H and W)
but if u say "stretch my image to be 100% "accross the screen" (Wide) then those hotspots would loose its coordinates to where to be positioned...makes sense?!
All the best!

can you show us the page?

Maybe someone can suggest an alternative fix
