Hi,

I've purchased a harddrive case so I can take my hard drive with me. It connects inside via SATA.

I have the same unit in my Windows 2003 Server. Works flawlessly there, yet in Windows XP - I have to restart the computer in order to see the drive.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte K8NSNXP.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you.

Have you tried opening the Device Manager and clicking on the icon for your computer, the click on the task icon for "Scan for hardware changes"?

The test continues...

I'd love to - but the computer freezes when I turn off a hard drive.
