I have an issue that is odd.

I go to log in a hot desk user into a clients switch and I get a call rejected error.

It is the default set up and exactly like my system and I have no problems.

...anyone?

sounds like the phone is already logged in some where else. if the system is powered off then the default ext com up automatically unless force log in is checked. but it sounds like that ext is already logged in.

The extension has never been logged in before....

but i be logged in at another port on the system. look in manager under the extensions list and see if it has a port assigned to it. if it does the you will have to either log that port out or change the ext associated with that port

There is no port associated with the extension.

*35*(extension)*(code)#

I use the same thing to log into my IP Office.

the code, is it the code that is under the user tab and under telephony for the login code and do both codes match. also try logging of the ext that is there. *36 before logging in

I've made every code or password the same for the sake of simplicity.

Are you asking me to log the person out who "owns" that phone before logging in the new person?

When I logged out of the one phone and then try log the hot desk user in, it gives the two beeps and then logs the old person back in.

that is weird. the user actually exist's? meaning if you close manager and open it back up the user is in there?

you have me stumped. so there is no exten on the exten tab that has the same number has what you are loging into. What release are you running?

i believeyou can't use the same password for another user
everyone needs a unique password

Have you checked to make sure the system shortcode for *35*N is still in the system?

kwing,

the shortcode is there.

tlpeter,

I have not experienced that as a problem before.

Tlpeter, I have never needed different passwrods for users before.

I usually just add 1234 as the login code and it has always worked. Have you tried with checking the forced login?

i am not sure if it is supportedto duplicate a login code
did you try to delete the user and addit back again ?
some times strange things happen
also login with phone manager as that user
if you can then the user is logged in somewhere
if you can't then it isn't
saves a little bit of search
