Horz. Scale in Quark 6 is not accurate... why?

When opening a Quark 5.0 doc. in Quark 6, all the items that where horizonitaly scaled, now apprear reduced in size, even though the point size still reads accurately. It seems as though it is also vertically scaled, but that is not the case. Has anyone else experienced this?

One more thing... the horz. items do print properly, but it is impossible to work with a page that is not visually accurate.
