Can someone help. Trying to hook up night ringing using a Valcom 2001a on a MICS. Using the auto attendant we have it set up to ring all phones on Option 4, but we also need it to ring the warehouse on option 4. The system pages the warehouse fine.
Try a product from WheelLock for this. They make several Aux. bells that work well with Nortel. You just need to make the lines Ring on the DN of the bell.

This can be done with no problem. Google valcom 2001A & look at the wire outs for what Valcom calls warble tone.I think it uses the contact closure off of the Mics. I haven't done one for awhile but I know it is easy. I think that I used to turn on the Aux.ringing setting of a set that does not get much incoming traffic. That way when that particular ext # gets called in night service the warble tone will sound on the paging system.
pccal is correct. This is from the installation document of the Valcom:
--------------------------------------------
Night Ring and Single Tones
Night ringing (Electronic warble tone) over
paging is activated by a common audible
contact closure or 90VAC ring voltage.
--------------------------------------------
Now, on the MICS you will find an Aux Ringer port (it's just your basic contact closure). Program a set with Aux Ring to Yes. Anytime this phone rings it will activate the contact closure.
Another idea is to break open a phone and connect some wires to the speaker, then parallel these wires to the page input on the Valcom.
