I have uninstalled Homestyle on my Win2000 machine but seem to be left with a icon in "My Computer" . It appears to be a sys. folder and the icon is called Allaire FTP&RDS...Would appreciate any help i can get to remove it from my computer...I have deleted the reg. using the find and find next and a file search of C: turns up nothing...Thanks:) Bryan

oops...sorry bout that...should be HomeSite not Homestyle..not sure what i was thinking:)

Bryan,
by default Allaire homesite installs a shell extenstion into explorer for remote deployment and ftp connections (useful if you like that kinda thing, I prefer to use a dedicated app for that sorta thing!).

What your gonna have to do is reinstall HomeSite then, go into the settings, in the 'File Settings' area (selectable from the menu tree on the list) expand the list and click on FTP and uncheck the box labled: 'Enabled Explorer shell intergration'

that should solve your worries! :) hope I helped

now it's a deadlink, the remove_zip link that is

any suggestions, I don't have the software, I bought this computer from someone, i don't want to pay for the software and i don't know anyone who has it

thanks, carterc9@earthlink.net

You've probably solved this by now, but just in case:

From Window menu select Start / Run
Type in: regsvr32.exe /u cfshellftprds.dll
Select "ok". You should then receive a success Window
