Having had problems with a certain drive models in the past ie: 60GXP/75GXP (3 years ago now) doesn'y mean a companies products should be permanently tared with this bad reputation for it's current line up (and yes! I did have a 75GXP 42gig that went wrong)
I have a new SATA Hitachi 7K250 160gig and am very pleased with it, admittadly I have know idea of it's long term reliability but I don't expect it to be any less reliable than any other make.
By the way, this drive was voted the best 7,200rpm drive in a recent Toms Hardware review.
