We have recently installed an Avaya G700 with 9600 series Ip phones. The sets are administered as alias's of the 46XX series. We ordered the HIS cord for the headset but we are unable to Txmit when we use headsets. has anybody come across this issue??

The HIS cord is specifically for the 96XX handset... Is that what you're using?

Thanks,
CJH

The HIS cord plugs into the headset jack in back of the 96XX phone. The phone already has a headset button on it to allow use of a headset. When we try it I can hear callers with no problems but I am not able to txmit out over the headsets..

Oh - are you talking about the $35~ HIS cords that replace the Plantronics base module?

Honestly haven't played with those yet... otherwise a normal handset cord will work in the headset jack.

Thanks,
CJH

We came across this issue as well. It appears that according to the 9600 documentation that you must use this cord. However, it works with remarkably few headsets. We were using the Plantronics H41N Headset. Exact same problem you are describing. After checking the compatibility guide on Plantronics.com, you have the choice of only 'over the head' headsets (only 2 or 3 of those) or wireless.

What headset are you trying to use?

We have an S8300 that is running 96xx sets. We are using Plantronics H351 headsets with HIS ($33.00 ones) cords and they have been working properly.

S8700Girl,
