I once read in a Tek Tips thread that it is possible to write hidden strings inside a JPG and then retrieve it later. I cannot find the thread any more.
Does anyone know how this can be done?

Thanks

OK Strongm,
A search in Google lead me to this site:

It's security is quite overkill for me but I should find a way to adapt it for my needs. I just need a way to save the app installation date to make it expire after a certain amount of days.

The project in this link also contains some bugs when it comes to saving the pictures.

Thanks!

If you do a search on this forum for steganography (as per strongm's post) you return several examples. There was one I intergated into a project of mine a while ago. Can't find the code or remember who posted it but it worked like a charm.

Hope this helps

Frank Zappa, cool.

But probably should have used a color photo, the magenta pixels show up pretty clearly on B&W. Or maybe that was to illustrate that it contained the hidden data?

OK. The code is not very long. Let's see if I can manage to understand it enough to figure out how to write.

Thanks!

Interviewer: Mr Zappa, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?
Zappa: You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?
