Is it possible to prevent comments from showing when sending an excel 97 file to someone else?

My new supervisor sent out a schedule today for everyone's days off this month. When she first sent them as a viewable xl file (I think), the comments were expanded in the e-mail, so we could see why our colleagues had requested time off. I printed it for her, and showed her what it was doing, telling her that we really don't need (nor want) to know why our co-workers have time off.

She then sent the file again as a straight excel file, and the comments were there, just not expanded, but when you moused over it, you could still see why our co-workers asked for time off.

Is there a way for my supervisor to have her comments, but distribute a file so that either the comments are deleted or so noone else can view the comments?

You can't prevent someone from seeing the comments attached to a cell. If you don't want others to see the comments, send them a copy that has had the comments removed.

You could automate the comment deletion with a macro to speed things up.

Cheers

Thanks macropod :)
I created the macro and it works fine :)
