Hi All,

A customer wants to hide the external number when transferring an external call.
At the moment reception gets a call, when they hit transfer the destination can see the external number being transferred.
Is it possible to force all transfers from one user to say something else instead of the external number?

Thanks!

I would only expect that to happen if the receptionist was performing a Blind transfer.

The big question is why is this needed?

if it is because users will not answer the phone form certain numbers then they need to be refered to HR & possibly issued with a P45 ;-)

Can't be done I'm afraid, not without some crazy loopback trunk action, but don't even consider that :)

What about a second ars code (2) and route that code to a new ARS with an outgoing route N dial NW 0 ?

Then the receptionist uses the 2 when transferring the call.

clearly, the answer is:

1. Purchase a second PRI, with ongoing network costs
2. purchase additional PRI card, and licensing
3. Pay for additional programming to make it work.
4. build mechanism to transfer calls to recalcitrant workers by transferring offsite to the incoming number of the new PRI, back to the receptionist (or possibly the new specially-hired secondary transfer receptionist). so that such calls have all relevant customer-identifying CLID stripped. New receptionist can then transfer the calls to said recalcitrant employees.
5. .... well at least until sad recalcitrant employees figure out that they should just ignore ALL transfers.

Alternatively, fire the manager who won't properly manage their workforce.

Okkie it won't work because the shortcode only becomes active for non user numbers

the dialing gets compared in this order
Users
Groups
personal SC
system SC

I have a solution, actually 3

1. give the users phones without displays
2. break their displays they have
3. fire the first person that doesn't answer a call

Thats why I put a 2 before the extn number.

So if you want to transfer to 123, the receptionist dials 2123..

As previously stated by myself & a few others
the correct solutionis P45 greybeards recomendation of issuing this to the manager deserves a *

I justed tested my 'trick' and it's working

Shorcode 4xxx, Dial Extn, NW, 0

Now when I make an external call to the receptionist, she put me on hold and dials 4366.
366 is then ringing, showing the name op the receptionist.

After she transfered the call, the number of the original caller is displayed.
