In exchange 5.5 i was able to create a DL and hide the members in the list from the GAL. Anyway to do this in 2003? I cant seem to find the option like it was on 5.5

thanks

I presume you don't mena the Advance option to Hide the Group from the Exchange GAL?

So you want to show the group, but hide the membership of it? The group object in AD has a 'Read group membership' permissions that you can untick for particular groups (on the Security tab). I've never done it myself, though - people aren't that paranoid around here.

that was incorrect, the fix for this is as follows:

in AD, find the DL and right click it. go to exchange tasks and choose hide membership :) quite simple but quite hidden

You're right - well spotted. But don't call it a DL, that's 5.5 terminology, it's a distribution group now.
