Hide Address but still access inbox

Hello, exch 2003 here, on 2003 server

I can hide a mailbox from gal, but then i cant access inbox via outlook 2003. Is there any other way to get off list but still access resources?

I setup Alerts@blabla and Logs@blabla for my ummm... alerts and logs. Programs will send to these, but not users. I dont want em in my inbox anymore!

you are missing one crucial step. Before you HIDE the mailbox ADD the mailbox to your account or login as the userID and give yourself rights to the mailbox. Once you have access go ahead and hide it from the GAL.
