Is there a way of hiding partitions within win2000...some command and/or utility? I was able to disable the floppy and cd-rom easily enough now I want to hide my d:\.

My setup is:

c:\ ntfs
d:\ fat

I have it this way to use ghost to back up and restore the C:\. If I convert it to ntfs also, I can't access the drive to use ghost!

I do have access to Partition Magic 5 but do not know if this will work with W2K!

thx in advance

You shouldn't need to hide it if you use partition->image instead of disk->image.

Also, Ghost2003 now allows imaging TO a NTFS partition or network location. But you would need to run it from a floppy disk or mapped network drive

Yeah, I realize that, unfortunately I have ghost 6.01.

This is a stand alone system. No network or internet, as it is for security. I've managed to disable virtually everything so all they can do is run the programs installed...that is it! They can't even access the floppy/cd, control panel, dos prompt, etc. I want this system to appear "hardwired", no playing with anything!

Besides I can't count the times when you need a floppy it decides not to work...I don't want to rely on something that flakey. Even a burnt cd isn't an option.

The last thing I have let to do is hide the fat partition, you know, from prying eyes!

If someone has a suggestion it would be appreciated!

One way to "hide" it would be to mount it as a folder on your c: drive rather than as d:. The windows disk management mmc allows this. Very sneaky, you'd never know it was a second partition if you didn't go into the MMC and see it. ________
Remember, you're unique... just like everyone else.
