Hello,

First, I hope this ticket finds everyone well!

I have been cleaning out the warehouse and found a IP500/403 V1 system running 2.3 software. It powers up and works, however I don't know any of the passwords. None of our traditional company passwords work. I'm assuming the customer changed everything themselves.

With that said, I was able to console into the back DB9 and get the CLI. I issued a reset command, however I later learned that command was only good for 3.0 or newer - won't do anything on 2.3 or older.

Does anyone know how to completely default the passwords? I will do anything really. I have a need for this old piece of equipment and don't want to send it to the electronic recycler. Any ideas? Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Just a correction - I'm running 2.1, not 2.3 software as indicated. Thanks again!

Try this:

Use the serial cable.
Type at-debug

erase nvconfig
eraseconfig
reboot.

I am not sure if this works as i started at 3.0 and didn't work much on those releases.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

If tlpeter's solution doesn't work:

This will factory default the IP 403:
attach a serial cable and start PuTTy
Boot up IP 403 while repeatedly pressing the escape button on the PC
The bootloader appears
Type AT-X3 and wait for completion ( erase config )
Type AT-X2 and wait for completion ( erase nvconfig )
power recycle IP 403 and it is back on default config

Another approach without losing config:
Open Manager and login as Operator/Operator or as Manager/Manager, often those passwords are not changed
Then there is a config saved on the hard disk in the Manager folder.
Open it offline and use Snadboys Revelation or equal software to reveil the Admin pasword

Another approach without losing config:
Install the CCC Delta Server on your PC ( Not WIN7/8 compatible ) and connect it to the iP Office
Then there is a config saved on the hard disk in the CCC folder.
Open it offline and use Snadboys Revelation or equal software to reveil the Admin pasword

or use IPOpass to identify the system password when you have a network connection.

the AT-X2, AT-X3 procedure described is probably best though as I assume the current cfg is of no relevance
