Im running Crystal Reports 7.0. Basically all I want to do is add a barcode to my report. I can change the font to the barcode that I want (Code 39) but i have to have a "*" added to the font for my scanner to reconize it. I have been to ID Automation.com and downloaded the UFL and followed the directions to install.Its not working. Im not the smartest in this area so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

hi
or try this
"*" & [FieldNameWithValue] & "*"

This would work in Access but not in Crystal Reports.
I tried it but we are on the right track. Any other ideas?

hi
Synopsis

If you want to display Barcode fonts in Crystal
Reports, where do you find the latest Barcode
functions?

Solution

For information on how to use barcodes and to
download the latest Barcode functions, refer to

Thats the thing. Ive been to those sites. I install by the instructions called out. I go to crystal report, formula editor. Create new formula, look under addtion functions and Im not finding the barcode options.

If you go to the avove link, I follow the instructions all teh way down to step 9. There is no options under Additional Functions as called out.

hi
i have download the software and it does show in my additonal function

you have version 7 i have version 8.5

I had to install code 39. Like I said I can change that field to the font in my report.

hi
"*" & [FieldNameWithValue] & "*"

Please read above. You already suggested that.

Where in Crystal Reports would you type in the above expression? I just want to make sure we are on the same wave length.

hi

you need to create a formula

@Barcode
"*" & [FieldNameWithValue] & "*"
save it and then drag ir in your report

So in the formula field, type
@Barcode
"*" & [FieldNameWithValue] & "*"
and save?
