Hey guys, I have made the transition from Adobe Premiere 6.5 to Pro and I am having major problems. First off, bitmap files are appearing to just be a black screen. Also the still images are appearing blown up on the monitor window no matter what magnification. With clips its the opposite, they appear smaller than they should be and is there any way to fix the aspect ratio? Thanks and suggestions greatly appreciated...

I am having the same exact problems. I have read that others are also. If you happen to find out a solution, I would greatly appreciate your help. I am frustrated beyond words. Thanks a bunch!

By default, earlier versions of Premiere sized images to fit the video.

Premiere Pro retains original size unless you change a setting in General Preferences which, unlike earlier versions, only affects what happens when each clip is moved to the timeline and can be turned on and off in mid edit with no side effects. No need to re-import clips any more.

Motion in PPro is now at full resolution, so further adjustments can easily be made using the Motion controls if desired.

Alternatively, use Motion alone to size clips manually.

If images appear black, there might be an issue with pixel dimensions or the type of file. In my experience, 2 megapixels stills can sometimes fail to render properly in PPro, where other sizes seem OK within the limit (4000x4000 from memory).
