Hi!

I'm running into a problem migrating from Crystal 9 to Crystal 11. I have a complex Crystal 9 report that is showing the following error when run with the Crystal 11 report viewer:

Formatting formulas must be print-time formulas

I have looked through the report formulas one at a time within Crystal and cannot find any formula that still has the phrase "WhileReadingRecords", and I am still getting the error with the failure of the report to run.

Is there any way tool that allows me to parse a report for a phrase to find an offending formula that I cannot locate visually? I went through every formula I could find.

Thanks for the help!
Meryl

In the formula editor of XI, on the left there is a list of formulas, including formatting formulas. If there are conditional formulas, they should show up there.

lbass,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I went through all these formatting formulas and removed all "WhileReadingRecords" phrases. I am still getting the error.

I'm pretty stumped.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!
Meryl

Do you have any crosstabs or subreports where you might be using conditional formatting formulas?

lbass,
I found the formulas. They were in customized numeric fields embedded in text fields. Here's how I found them (I found this explanation in the Crystal Forums):

"Click the EXPORT button (looks like an envelope)...then under FORMAT use the drop-down list to choose REPORT DEFINITION.

Send that to a FILE then open the file in Notepad."

This will be invaluable for me in the future.

I will now go about testing all my (200) reports in the project.

Thanks for your very prompt attention!
