Help with bios

Hello...
I want to upgrade my Thinkpad 240 to windows 2000 (its on 98) and i have the windows 200 cd, but the only cd-rom device i have is a external usb hp cd burner... and, even though i have the latest version of bios, i cant seem to switch it to load from cd. Maybe i'm not looking in the right place but i dont think the option is there...

Bios will not see the external CD.

You will have to do the install using boot disks.
