I have two msdl cards in my 81c. I have one in group 0:

.STAT MSDL
GROUP 0

GROUP 0 MSDL 5: ENBL
GROUP 0 MSDL 9: ENBL
GROUP 0 MSDL 12: ENBL
GROUP 0 MSDL 10: ENBL

and one in group 1:

.STAT MSDL
GROUP 1
GROUP 1 MSDL 14: ENBL

However the card in group 0 has two cable coming off the front of the card and the one card in group one has four cables coming off the front. If I do a full stat on group 1 msdl card the print comes up:

.STAT MSDL 14 FULL
GROUP 1
GROUP 1 MSDL 14: ENBL
DCH 35 OPER PORT 0
DCH 50 OPER PORT 1
DCH 46 OPER PORT 2
DCH 47 OPER PORT 3

My question is can I still program another DCH on the msdl card in group 0 and cable to one of the two open ports?

Looks like you have 5 MSDLs, or daughter boards on your PRIs, anyway, Yes you can put Dchs on any one of those in group 0.

You don't show us the STAT on MSDL 5,9,12 or 10 which are the 4 MSDL devices programmed in Group 0 so we don't know if you have spares as far as the programming is concerned. If you have two unused ports on the MSDL card that you can see in Group 0 then you should be able create a new DCH.

After programming the DCH to the MSDL card. How do you activate the DCH. Do I have to take the MSDL card out of service and force download?

We are not sure whether you have MSDL Cards or On-Board Daughter Boards:-

The difference is MSDL Cards have 4 Multi Purpose connections for DCH/SDI etc along with dipswitches and cable connections. The on-board has no cables and fits on the PRI card but only gives you the 2 MSDL Dchannels only
with DIP Switches on the PRI card

It is wise once programmed the type of signalling etc to Force Download the MSDL before enabling the relating Dchannels

Cheers!!

Ok, here goes I am installing two PRI T1 with on board Daughter Board. I cabled the ports to two open slot on my MSDL card in group 0. How do I enable?

If they are On-Board you won't have to cable the DChannels just the T1 Trunks to the front of the Dual PRI

ENL MSDL XX
LD 96
ENL DCH XX

Cheers!!
