Hello, I hope you do not mind my intrusion in this tread.
First I would like to say thanks to all you experts giving us ‘green” people advice I for one really appreciate it.
I have read both this tread and another that Markku had responded to.
I am about to embark on the same adventure as Jerk (a house to house VPN or small office to small office). I have been advised to purchase either 2 BEFVP41 linksys or 2 BEFSX41 linksys routers to set this up. I am very green with these things and rusty with networking in general (but I love a challenge

) spending a couple hundred dollars is no big deal what is important is stability, security, and easy access. The use for this will be for a single home PC (bookkeeper) to get into quickbooks (on a single PC) at another home/small office about once or twice a week. The office side has a cable connection currently and the home side will be using dial up for the next couple of months then probably will be set up with a satellite connection. Last peace of info is if it is possible to back up the quicken files on the home side (from the office side) once a week or month that would be nice as well. Ok there is more.. the cable connection currently is not a static IP but we could get that set up with out much of a problem.
OK here is the question.. Since I have not started yet I would like to know if buying one of these two routers is the best way to go or am I making a mistake right off the bat? Is there a better way to go or better routers to purchase. (keep in mind your talking to someone that needs his hand held every step of the way

)
Thanks in advance for any insight you might post, and sorry jerk if I stepped on your tread
