I am new to working with 5.5, (our IT person left in a hurry and I got stuck with the job for now) and our server is running out of space. I have had users clean out their mailboxes, but it's not reducing the size of the mapped drive. I'm afraid it will crash as soon as space is limited (has happened before). Can anyone help me?

Thanks zbnet, I see some helpful stuff. But I'm wondering what do I do about it? I also think this "drive" is being used for other purposes, though I can't see anything on it. How can I get that information? It just show's up as a mapped drive with 31.7GB used and only 156MB free. I know some users were using at as a storage drive, but I had them clear everything off. How can I see who (or what) else is using it?

If the disk is permissioned correctly, then there shouldn't be any inappropriate use. Only you can discover what is running on that server, and audit the disk usage - this is the same as any network-connected resource in your environment.

To ensure your Exchange database isn't going to fail imminently, you can find the 1221 events being written in your application event log, these report the amount of free or 'white' space in the databases - we're particularly interested in the ebent for the private information store (the file is priv.edb). Actually, whilst you're at it, tell us the size of this file as reported by file manager.

Also find where the logs are being written - same volume or different volume?

Actually, are the backups working? Could be that logs are filling the disk.
