Does anyone know how I can do a Find and Replace command on DSA to replace my massaging server name to blank. This will be for about 4000 stations.

I'm not sure which fields you are wanting to change, I did a test on my extension to change the station form on page 2 under LWC Reception: Audix to None, I don't think there is a "blank" option in that field, however if you're trying to change a different field, you can go to that field and hit F5 and it will give you a list of options.

I clicked on the "find and replace"
Selected "Station" from the drop down box
Clicked the "Change" button
Clicked Next
In the Filter Field I put the word "Extension"
In the Filter Value I put in "1234" (my extension)
In the second Filter Field I put in "LWC Reception"
In the second Filder Value I put in "Audix"
In the New Values Field I put in "LWC Reception"
In the New Values Value I put in "None"
Clicked Next
I scheduled it to "Run Now" and it changed the LWC Reception field for just my extension to None.
You should be able to do this system-wide but it will take a while - - make sure the PC isn't the same one that runs any of your BCMS reports tonight. Before you start you should try your commands in the correct fields on one or two stations before you do everyone's so you can be sure tht you have the command done correctly.

I'm pasting some information from the ASA Help file on the Find and Replace. There is some information on inputting wildcards and ranges, maybe you could do the command for only 500 stations at a time since it will take a while.

Find and Replace - Filters and Values screen

Use this screen to provide the criteria for selecting objects that you want to change, find, or remove. If you are making changes, you can also specify the fields that you want to apply changes to and the new values for those fields.

For example, if you are changing stations, you can specify that you only want to change stations whose set type is 8410 in the filter list, and replace the Port with X in the New Values list. The procedure to perform the example follows these steps.

1 In the Filter Field column, click in the first cell, click the down arrow, and select the field that you want to filter on. Note that you can use wildcards, ranges, and delimiters to specify a range.

2 In the Filter Value column, enter the criteria to match on.
Your options depend on what object and fields you have selected to change. Filter values without wildcards and ranges are matched exactly, ignoring case. For example, "a" equals "A".When you add, change, or delete, you are affecting all of the objects that match the criteria specified in the Selection Filter table in the upper half of the screen.

3 If you are changing objects, click in the first cell and click the down arrow of the New Values Field column and choose each field that you want to change. Enter the new values for these fields in the corresponding Values column.

You can also blank out a field on a switch. For example, to blank out users’ names from stations 1000 to 2000, you would select the station object, filter on the Name field and the value of 1000-2000 in the Filter box, then in the New Values box, select the Name field and enter " " (quote, space, quote) in the Value field as the replacement value.

4 To use a template to replace the values that match the criteria in the filtered fields , select the template in the Template field. If you specify replacement values for fields in the New Values box, and there are corresponding fields that match the filter criteria in the template, Avaya Site Administration will use the replacement values listed in the New Values box before using the field values from the template.

5 Repeat the preceding steps for each field you want to change, find, or remove.

6 Click Next.

7 Complete the wizard screens. If you need help with a wizard screen, click Help on that screen.

Example:

To disable the ports on all type 8410 stations that hunt to personal assistant extensions (extension range 100 to 200):

8 Enter the following selection filters in the Selection Filter table:

Field Value
Type 8410*
Hunt-to Station 100-200

9 To change the port on all matching phones to X, enter the following new values in the New Values table:

Field Value
Port X

About wildcards, ranges and delimiters

Wildcard, ranges, and delimiters are useful when you are specifying a range of criteria, such as for changing certain object data.

Type Description and Examples
Wildcards (? and *):
Wildcards are used to match non-numeric values. The ? character matches any one character. The * character matches zero or more characters.ExampleThe filter 01?01* will match 01A01, 01A0101, 01B0115 and 01D01. The filter 01?01* will not match 0101, 02A0101 or 01AA01.

Ranges: Ranges are used to match numbers that fall within a range, or characters that come within a range. Character ranges are specified within square brackets.ExampleThe filter 100-200 will match any numeric value between 100 and 200.The filter 01[A-B]* will match any string beginning with 01A or 01B.

Delimiters: Sometimes you will need to match something that looks like a range or wildcard, but isn’t. You will need to surround the filter in quotes so that it is not misinterpreted.

Example "01[A-B]*" matches the string 01[A-B]* exactly, but it will not match the string 01A01.

Thanks to Toni269 for all the information. We were able to replace the field with a blank only by leaving a space in between two parentheses. Exampel: Find and replace massage server name from Octel to " ". This should also work for anyone trying to do a Find and Replace to leave any field blank on mutipul stations for any reason. We did it for our upgrade as per Avaya.
