I have a database in Oracle8i.
Some of the tables under schema X got wrong data. I want to recover database from the backup (export dump file) taken last Sunday.
I don't want to overwrite the existing database.
How can I accomplish this recovery?
Can I recover only tables and data under the schemaX?

Should I create a new database first and recover the database from the dump file while the same name database is located on the same physical machine.

The following Oracle "imp" command line extracts from a full-database backup of the "DHUNT" database just the schema named "Summit" and RESTORES all the objects in that schema only. (Be sure the SUMMIT schema is empty before the import...I do a "DROP USER summit INCLUDING CONTENTS;" followed by a "CREATE USER summit..."):

imp buffer=15000000 grants=y feedback=1000 fromuser=SUMMIT touser=SUMMIT file=DHUNT.FULL_DB.dump log=SUMMIT_Imp.log userid=system/<password>@dhunt
