Hi
My friend Paul has a Cannon I900D inkjet printer.
It quite working and after not being able to get it working he called me and we tried together. He has a Dell computer running Windows XP.
Here is what I did.
I uninstalled the printer and all the software.
Ran Registry Cleaner and removed all the referenced to the printer, then rebooted the computer.
With the printer unconnected to the computer I reinstalled the drivers and plugged in the printer.
Nothing happened.
When I look in Device Manager there is an asterisk on “Other Devices” and the printer is listed there. If I click on printer options it says, “This device is working normally”
In control panel the printer shows as installed.
However there is no indication when the USB cable is plugged and unplugged (no new device found message).
If I try and print anything it says that the printer is offline. It does not say that the printer cannot be found, is missing anything or any kind of error message.
Nothing seems to get past this point.
As a last stab I tried a different USB cable from a printer that is working. That didn’t help either.
I don’t know anything else to try.
Anyone have any ideas?
Mike
