ok my memory is starting to come back to me. has anyone ever tried terraserver.com when it first came out? as i recall, all of the satellite photos were protected so you couldn't prt-scr it, save it, etc. well, i revisited the site yesterday and guess what? the image protection scheme was no longer there. i can only speculate that it was driving traffic away from their site so they were forced to remove it.
btw, this has nothing to do with the plugin company that i mentioned earlier, but just another example of my run-ins with image protection. did it work? i didn't want the image enough to put all my time and effort into hacking the scheme they used, so YES it worked on me.
while i agree with the forum consensus that any sort of IP protection on the internet is futile -- or any digital IP for that matteer -- there are always going to be some company that finds it enticing enough to put up big money for protection schemes (e.g., online art galleries, xxx sites).
