Im trying to restore my db backup but the server always raises this error that says I don't have enough disk space, w/c confuses me. I'm sure my disk is large enough (20GB) for this db (30MB + 1GB log file). I tried shrinking the database (which didn't work also, physical file size the same). Any help? Please ??? :(

Are you looking at the correct drive? i.e. were the original files on the same drive as the one you are trying to restore to? If not use the with move option.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy.

I had the same problem(maybe it is different) in
In sql7 you cannot restore files larger than 2GB.
it says (not enough space you have only 2.174.....bytes free).

To restore 3GB MDF and 4GB LDF
To solve this
At first i create a empty DB with size of 3200MB MDF and 4200MB ldf...

And then i restore my backups to this database.
maybe it can help you.

I'm barely new to db administration with SQL 7. Here's what I did. I made a backup ticking the overwrite option, from our client's server. When I restore from this backup in our office's server, I browse for this backup file through "From device / Select devices..." button, and restore.

Backup file size is 12MB only. But this error,

MODIFY FILE encountered operating system error 112(There is not enough space on the disk) while attempting to expand the physical file.
Could not adjust the space allocation for file 'mepisales_log'.

I already tried preparing an empty db with the same logical name as the backup, but didn't work either.

Am I doing my backup/restore properly? Any insights, please.

Got a workaround on this. We just copied the MDF and run on sp_attach_db_single_file. We left the log file bec. of its overwhelming size of 5GB! I'm wondering why shrinking db didn't trimmed the log file.
