Instead of the usual "Cannot display this webpage" message of windows if it fails to connect to a site, an annoying search page of some site pops up. How can I remove it? I've used Ad-aware but it's still there.

Do you have any firewalls running? Make sure you disable everything in your system temporarily to make sure there's not a conflict.

If it is an adaware or spyware problem, this site should have all the answers you need:

Good Luck!

Now that's what I was talking about, a browser hijacker. Thanks cdogg for the link!

Sorry for posting this thread on the hardware forums, I misclicked on it. But thanks for helping out!

Find SPYBOT Search & Destroy on the Web... it takes care of Hijackers and Adware probs that Ad-Aware doesn't... and Ad-Aware catches all the ones that SPYBOT doesn't...

then do a search for Javacool's Spywareguard and run it aswell, this will prevent most Adware from installing in the first place, cuz it set's their Regkeys making them think that they are already installed...

With spybot program you can immuize your system against a number of know objects, Like BadBigBen said there use both programs Ad-aware and Spybot as 1 program catches so much and then the other catches more that first program missed.
