Can anyone please tell me where AIX, COGNOS and DB2 log files are located? Can I view them in the one viewer.
I need to find the location and types of logs (event, system etc) generated in AIX (5.1), Cognos (7.1) and DB2 EEE?

thankyou in advance

There are a lot of log files just for the OS. Just two of them:

errpt gives you hardware and software errors the OS detects, including (usually) when an app (like COGNOS and DB2) crash.

Then there is the syslog (location is specified in /etc/syslog.conf) that gives other details about the operating system.

There are other OS logs.

The log files for DB2 and COGNOS would be the most helpful in telling you what your application is doing, however. Have you asked the DB2 part of the question in the DB2 forum?
