Never realy used Exchange 2000 server before and I've got to help a friend out with installing Exchange 2000 server on 2 Windows 2000 servers at two different sites. Each site has about 3 Win 2000/XP PCs. I'm assuming the mail will be picked up from a POP3 account and will need to be then distributed to the corresponding user. How easy it is to get Exchange 2000 to do this?
Also they need to be able to view each others schedules. Each PC has Outlook installed. Will Exchange allow them to share the schedules so that each user can see the others schedules? Maybe using Group schedules or something???? To do this does Outlook need to be installed on the server or will Exchange do the job. Lots of questions I know, but I really need the help!! Many, many thanks

A few quesitons.... If you are using Exchange 2000, why are using pop3.... If you have outlook you should be connection to the server with exchange services, then anyoune can share/see the calanders/public folders through the server.

There are two ways of setting up a remote site, and this will determine by your WAN speed.

1. Use "Hosts" and "LMHosts" By using host and lmhost files you only need one server and the "remote" site can find the server at the "main office"

thread858-439095 other way is to set up an exchange server, dns, at both locations and only use one domain for AD. All of the users connect to the local server, but can see/share any user on the other server. WAN speed is an issue, since all to domain info will be transfered.

thread858-380855 a seach on "WAN" and read other posts. Too many to list.
Good Luck
