Hi guys, as above.
For example station 6216 is being forwarded out to my mobile number. Someones call my extension 6126 and call forward is done sucessfully to my mobile. But on my mobile, it shows calls coming from extension 6200. Can I get it to display my extension which is 6216 instead?
My poor reception girl which is managing extension 6200 is getting calls from all over the office asking whether she had called them.
Appreciate for all replies. Thanks in advance!

Usually the carrier will only allow CLI that is teh same as one of the numbers on the trunks i.e. in your DDI ranges.

Are you sure that you have an agreement with them to do otherwise?

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Hi mattKnight,
Thanks for replying. So it has got to do with the service provider and not on our programming side?

Sorry misread post,

You should be able to outpulse DDIs - I thought you were trying to display the originator's number - which woudl require carrier intervention.

if you place a direct calls to the cell from your desk phoen do you get the DDI displayed?

Np, my phrase wasn't that clear too.

Yes, i do get the correct DDI displayed when i place direct calls but not when i forward it. When i forward it and place a call to my desk, it displays a number which is within my range but it's not my DDI

Ok I can explain what is happening.

when you forward the your handset, the system will try to pass out the orginators'CLI. Your carrier will not (most likely) allow this. Some carriers won't allow the call to proceed and some will substitute the billing number as CLI for calls with "invalid" CLI. I guess that this is what is happening

How to force the PABX to use the internal extension as teh source of CLI, I don't know for sure but you could try cahing the values of

Location for Covered and Forwarded Calls: called
PGN/TN/COR for Covered and Forwarded Calls: caller

which are one page 1 of the system-parameters coverage, but I don't think it will do what you want.

You coudl manipulate the CLI shown usingthe Tanderm call screen, but this will not work at the extension level i.e. instead of all calls showing cli for 6200, you can make all calls show cli for 6299 or an unused extension, so that people can differentiate between forwarded and directcalls.

Other than those suggestions I'll back out now and let someone brighter answer!

How do you go about manipulating the CLI? care to explain? I was thinking of ways to force calls to show a different number as well so that one would know.
Cheers

you need to use the command

"change tandem-calling-party-num"

and fill out the fields appropriately, you will also need to set the "modify tandem calls" to y in the trunk group screens.

This works for me on our 5.2.1 system
