Help Installing Flash Player 9

I am trying to install Flash Player 9 on a computer (Windows XP Pro)that seems to of never had a version of Flash installed, I know I could believe it either! But I keep getting nowhere. I either get Internet Explorer (Not Responding) Error and just no install or security message. I have gone through all of the suggestions from the FAQ on the Adobe support site and nothing. I have removed any spyware that was on the computer, I did find & remove a download blocker, I ran the Flash player uninstall program, I did all the internet security settings that adobe support site recommended I did all windows updates and even uninstalled IE 7 just incase that was the problem, I also disabled all non essential start up programs and the anti virus software.

HELP before I throw this computer in the nearest lake!!

Any clues in the Event Viewer?

Can't get MM Flash to work since SP2 install?

I found a fix for it at

That download worked and Flash Player is working proberly.
