I'm trying to install CF 7 on a Fedora Core 3 environment. Our present web site is running on the Apache version that installed with Fedora. I'm having a heck of a time installing CF though, since it can't detect the web sites on install and requires the user to enter the following info:
1. Configuration directory
2. Directory and file name of binary folder location
3. Directory and fine name of control script.

I'm new to Linux and don't know where I can find this info, any suggestion would be most appreciated. Thanks!

For reference I'll post my findings.

I spent a good week trying to get CF 7 on a Fedora Core 3 box without any luck. I tried the installation on a Red Hat 9 box and had no problems at all. It was a pleasant experience compared to the Fedora Core 3.
For anyone trying to install CF, there are two interfaces when installing CF, GUI and text. I recommend going text, it certainly is not as pretty but it gave me hints on where certain files like the above mentioned were located. Something that I didn't get with the GUI install. I've got CF running on a RH 9 box and it's working like a charm!

Thank you for the info!

If you don't ask the right questions, you don't get the right answers. A question asked in the right way often points to its own answer. Asking questions is the ABC of diagnosis. Only the inquiring mind solves problems.

Follow up to the question I originally posted.

I've managed to get ColdFusion MX 7 running on Fedora 4 box. I found a great guide Dave Gillard. Check out the site it's got some really good tips. Helped me a great deal!

The guide is for FC3, but works for FC4 as well. Just find the corresponding RPM's that go with your version.
