I'm trying to install Perl on a win 2000 server and I'm pretty lost. I've downloaded the open source version from perl.com and I need to know how to compile it and a decent compiler to use.
. You download and double-click, answer the normal windows installer questions about install paths and such, and you have perl on that box. ActiveState seems to be the leader in providing Win32 binaries and supporting modules. I run ActiveStates binaries on this WinXP box and several other 98, NT, and 2000 boxes. Also, their install will give you their Perl Package Manager (PPM) which makes installing additional modules very straight forward/easy. 'hope this helps
