I am running XPe on a 4 node server farm. I notice that on server 1 the ima server did not start. It is not giving me the error "IMA Service Error Message -2147483647". I can't put my hand on the backup copy of the access db file.

I search Citrix Knowledgebase and other websites. It was suggest the I will have to do the following: Change server farm name, re-enter licences, activate licenses, and republish apps.

Is this true?????

If so how do I rename the domain?? Thanks.

I had the same problem with one of our servers. The IMA service would hang during boot. I could get in through RDP but not through ICA.

I finally had to uninstall MF from the server and remove the server from the farm. I actually had to do a manual uninstall because it would not uninstall with the add/remove programs.

My suggestion is just to uninstall metaframe from it. Remove it from the farm and then reinstall metaframe.

Add it to the farm, zone and configure the datastore.

You might want to run a dscheck to see if it comes back with any errors while checking integrity. If it does, run the dscheck /clean command.

If that doesn't work, try using the dsverify servers command. Dsverify should be in the components cd.

Hope that helps.

Why are you looking for the Access database backup.

If the citrix server that is broken is the DataStore server you will have a lot of work to do, if your cannot find the Access Database..

If it is not then it maybe that the local host cache is stuffed. Refresh / recreate the local host cache fist step. I would also look at all the Dsmaint options to see if one can make your server better.

If that does not restart the IMA then use the XP CD and run chgfarm command to try putting it back into the Farm. (you may have to delete the server from the farm before rejoining. PS this is a non reversible action so try everything before trying this one.

If all the above fails then uninstall XP and the reinstall XP and then rejoin the farm. Then re-install all the applications.
