Hello!
I'm having a problem with Dreamweaver MX I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with.
First, I should probably mention that I just recently switched hosts due to very poor support and billing issues. My new host has been wonderful so far, but I have been unable to connect to my MYSQL database using Dreamweaver MX at my new host.
Here's what's going on...... I was able to use DW MX to connect to my database at my old host just fine. I never had a problem. Since I've switched, I can't get it to connect even though I'm doing the exact same thing I did with my old host.
I have created a page with screenshots of my settings as well as the errors I get, etc. It can be found at:
Can you take a look at it and see if you can see if I'm doing anything wrong?
I've created all the required access hosts (and then some) which are also listed at the above url.
I have asked my new host if there is anything I need to be doing differently or if there is anything that is blocking me from connecting to my database and they said everything is working fine. None of my hosts support team use DW MX, so they've been unable to help me with this particular problem.
One other thing that is really weird is that when I connect to my server via FTP in Dreamweaver, it won't show the "_mmServerScripts" directory either locally or remotely. If I connect using a different FTP program such as WSFtp, I can see it. It's there, it just won't show up
in DW MX. I'm wondering if maybe that has something to do with it since the error I'm getting says that the testing server is not mapping to the "_mmServerScripts" directory.
I'm at a loss! I have been able to use this feature in DW MX for the longest time, and now to be without it is killing me. I have clients I need to do projects for and this is the only way I know how to build dynamic database pages is by using DW MX, which is the reason I bought it in the first place.
By the way, not that it matters, but I have tried uninstalling and then re-installing DW MX, but it didn't make a difference. I'm pretty sure either I have something wrong, or it's a server issue.
Can anyone offer any help or advice?
Thanks so much!
Monica
