help CD-ROM & DVD-ROM wont work

hello im having a problem w/my system i have AMD 900 T-Bird,GeForce 2 Ti,384 SDRAM P 133,PC CHIPS M810 MOBO,SIS 730 CHIP SET,30 GIG HD @ 7200 RPM,WIN98SE,17" NEC,12X DVD,52X CD-ROM,56K, WELL I WAS TRY TO INSTALL THE VIDEO CARD'S DRIVERS FOR TV-out I WAS USING nVIDIA'S 23.11 DID NOT SUPPORT TV-out AND SOME HOW THE LEADTEK DRIVERS DIDNT SUPPORT TV-out SO FOR SOME REASON I BOOTED ON WIN98 BOOT DICK I CHOSE CD-ROM SUPPORT BUT I CAME OCROSS THIS "A:>" SO I JUST RESTARTED W/OUT THE BOOT DISK AND THEN THE CD-ROM & THE DVD-ROM WONT WORK I CANT FIND IT NOWHERE IN MY SYSTEM I HELP BAD IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME PLEASE DO THANX
 
If it was my computer, I'd do the following.

First find your drivers for everything.

Reboot using startup disk, reinstall windows, NOT FORMAT
not erase disk, just reinstall. Make sure you overwrite the C:\windows.000 default it will try to do - with C:\windows

It will reinstall the system files - and will most likely require some/most of your individual driver disks afterwards.

Hey just try to first re install your cd dos drivers
ie: mscdexe & ATAPI.sys via an install disk, then follow the prompts for the default install directories; reboot.
If youre only prob is the cd, dvd, u should still be able to boot into win as usual and your devices should start to communicate w/ the drivers even before win splash screen.
