Greetings,

If there is anyone out there that can help me I will be forever in your debt! I was recently moving a Callpilot 150 in my remote office when it crashed. The system was moved fine and up and running with the remote ethernet access so I can log in via the GUI. Then I started making a change to the CCR tree when someone must have called into it and I received an error message on my screen notifing me that the change will not be processed because someone is using the system....and that was all she wrote.

After that, when I logged back it was showing some weird symbols on the CCR tree. I tried booting the power supply to the Callpilot and now it will not initialize. The 4 ports do light up and begin to go through their process but then nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas? I know this is a software problem and hope there is something I can do to get it past the initialization phase and back to normal (hopefully with all the programming intact).

Please let me know if there is anyone out there with the expertise to resolve this problem.

Thank You,

Try connecting to the serial port with your PC running Hyperterminal, 9600 baud 8-N-1, straight-through cable. Then power on and watch the bootup process to hopefully get a clue on what's wrong.

I had my vendor connect to the CallPliot via Hyperterminal and it looks like it starts to initialize then stops. Are there any commands that can be typed in to force the initialization?

Also, I don't know if this helps but I can definately ping the VM system so I know it is "alive".

Good news...I am able to telnet into the Callpilot but now it is asking me for the login and password. Does anyone know what this is by default.

Thanks

Forget the login and password, that won't get you anywhere.
I have had several call pilots quit working for one reason or another lately but all have failed after being powered up and down several times. It turned out they were using the old original power supplies. Try replacing with a new power supply. May get you up and running again with all programming intact.

Already replaced the power supply but it did not do the trick. I actually spent some time on the phone with Nortel and they suggested that although there may be a way to reset the system via a telnet session...they would prefer that someone be on site to first attempt a reboot through the phone and second through a serial cable.

Any ideas on what I should be looking for with them?

Can you still log in via the web? if so, does the CCR tree state incomplete? if so, you need to disable the tree via AA before you can make changes, also, do your pointers in your tree match, 1 for this, 2 for that etc...

I had a similar message when we were recording and we would not save then hang up. But if your CCR tree is disable, then it should not tell you your error message.

Hope this helps.
